MELTON City Council will commence work on a strategy to investigate the future provision of aquatic facilities in the municipality.
Mayor of the City of Melton Kathy Majdlik said it was important to plan for the future now to ensure the council continues to cater for its fast growing community.
“Melton City continues to grow at a rapid rate and in order to prevent council falling behind in our provision of community infrastructure it is imperative that we undertake detailed planning work to prepare for a future facility now,” Cr Majdlik said.
“The strategy will provide a clear strategic direction for council and the community about the delivery of aquatic services in the municipality.”
Extensive consultation will be undertaken as part of the strategy’s development.
The strategy is expected to be completed in 2013.
