LORRAINE Maneja plans to be in the music industry for the long haul and is happy to learn from her mistakes along the way.

The Caroline Springs singer/songwriter is fresh from the release of her debut single last December called ‘Over’ and is already making tracks for her next musical goal.

“People who haven’t heard me sing have really enjoyed it which is very encouraging. It’s not just family and friends,” Ms Maneja said.

The 22-year-old has been busy working on the launch of her EP which she hopes will be released in May. The songs will be about “me, who I have been who I am and how I’ve grown”.

The talented artist writes all her own songs accompanied by her piano. She takes that raw music to her band who help transform the lyrics and sounds into soulful pop music.

The “mini-album” will feature five songs inspired by her life experiences and observing other people.

Ms Maneja said her spare time is devoted to the launch of her EP and all the facets that go with that including organising cover art work, posters, pre-sale tickets and promoting the gig.

“I’m excited. I’m trying to learn from my mistakes.  This is not the first launch and it’s not the last. Hopefully I will get more comfortable,” Ms Maneja said.

Ms Maneja will graduate from Monash University later this year with a Bachelor Degree in music and jazz.

“I haven’t planned anything. I want to take it as it comes.”
