YOUNGSTERS across Melton have a range of fun activities at their fingertips these school holidays, much to the relief of local parents.
City of Melton Mayor Kathy Majdlik encouraged families to take part in some of the events on offer.
“Parents are often looking for things for their children to do during the school holiday period, and council wants to provide active and creative events for our community,” Cr Majdlik said.
The school holiday program at the Melton and Caroline Springs libraries will feature a range of craft workshops and performances.
A booking is not required for these events, however parents will need to collect a ticket from the library service desk on the day. Numbers are limited for each activity.
The council’s popular ‘Get Activated’ program will also be held during the school holidays for children up to 12 years old.
‘Get Activated’ events will be held on the 3 April, 10am to noon and 10 April, 10am to noon at the Caroline Springs Leisure Centre and Melton Indoor Recreation Centre.
Activities will include a variety of sporting elements such as basketball, soccer, athletics, fencing and badminton.
The cost is $3 per child and a parent or guardian must be present to supervise their children at all times. Parents or guardians must register their participation to secure a place.
