THE world of female motorcycling will be celebrated this Thursday, and all in the name of a good cause.
Ladies of Kawasaki Night will be held at Matt Jones Motorcycles in Melton this week as part of International Female Ride Day on Friday, with proceeds raised on the evening going towards the Make a Wish Foundation.
Matt said women are becoming more prominent in the motorcycling industry and deserve a night to celebrate their involvement in the sport.
“Motorcycling has predominantly been a male-dominated sport for many years now, but with the ever-growing number of female riders now getting involved, they deserve to be able to walk in to a shop and know that they will be treated fairly and honestly, and most of all get the right advice,” Matt said.
“Kawasaki recognises that women are an integral part of motorcycle sport, whether running their own dealership, carving up a motocross track or off-road scene or working behind the scenes as a career professional or volunteer.”
The Ladies of Kawasaki night will begin at 6.30pm on Thursday 2 May and all women can attend for free. A gold coin donation will go towards the Make a Wish Foundation.
Australia rock artist Shannon Noll will be performing on the night.
