FOR Steve Singarella, his ’57 chev is his pride and joy – along with his beloved family of course.
The Burnside resident is living out his boyhood dream of owning a car worthy of any 1950s rock n’ roll star and the father-of-two wouldn’t have it any other way.
A long-time car enthusiast, Steve bought the vehicle as a shell more than two decades ago and spent two-and-a-half years restoring it to its former glory.
And he admits the driving force behind the car was to share his passion with other vintage car lovers and newlywed couples who want to begin their marriage in style.
With a stark white interior and soft pink trim, the car is the perfect accessory for all brides wanting to make a grand entrance on their big day.
Owner of White Wedding ’57 Chev Hire, Steve can never put a price on the feeling he gets when he sees a bride’s smile as she gets into the car for the first time, veil and train in tow.
But what he loves most about his treasured car is the joy it brings to his children Mikayla and Julian.
“The best thing about it is the enjoyment from driving it, seeing the children excited to be in it and being able to share my love of cars with brides and grooms,” he said.
It seems Steve isn’t the only one head over heels with the super cool vehicle. Even little Julian looks on at the car in amazement and loves hearing the engine rumble from the other end of the street.
But mum Lucy said while the youngster is smitten with the car he does have some advice for his dad.
“He loves it, but he wants his dad to change the colour to red with yellow flames,” she said.
