CAROLINE Springs racer Nathan Pretty showed off his driving skills at last weekend’s 2013 Auto One V8 Ute Racing Series in front of a parochial home crowd.
Last week Pretty said he was looking forward to performing in front of his legion of fans and was hoping for a good performance.
The former V8 Supercar endurance driver, who also holds the lap record in a Holden Monaro 427C, admitted he would love a win in a V8 Ute to advance his standing on the ENZED Drivers Championship leader-board.
Last year Pretty was close to winning the ENZED title, having led for five rounds until engine issues at the Gold Coast event saw him drop to third in the championship and he was unable to recover.
“Last year was definitely disappointing, to have such a good lead and lose it, but I guess that’s racing and you just have to move forward,” he said.
“All sights are set on the title this year and although we were hit with more issues we’re still putting our best foot forward.”
The father-of-two has two ARMOR ALL Pole awards, four races and two round wins under his belt already and is only one point shy of second placed driver David Sieders and 47 off leader Ryal Harris.
