TEENAGE drivers across Melton are being urged to attend a community road safety forum as part of community safety month.
All resident are being encouraged to attend the event held later this month which is aimed at enhancing people’s understanding of road trauma.
Mayor Kathy Majdlik said the council is committed to improving road safety and reducing the road toll.
“I encourage residents to attend to learn more about road rules, road safety, the effects of road trauma, including serious injury and fatal collisions, as well as how to avoid a collision,” Cr Majdlik said.
Guest speakers will include Regional Co-ordinating Magistrate and former Coroner Noreen Toohey, Christine Harrison from Road Trauma Support Services, as well as representatives from Melton police.
Free showbags with brochures and educational material will be available.
The event is supported by Victoria Police, RoadSafe Westgate Community Road Safety Council and Road Trauma Support Services and will be held on Wednesday 30 October, from 7pm to 9.30pm at the Melton Community Hall, 232 High Street, Melton,
