WITH a wave of his hand, Micky Trickstar brings to life the wonderful world of magic.

The professional magician, who lives in St Albans, loves to entertain children and adults with his wonderful tricks and mind-boggling illusions.

Micky first fell in love with magic at the tender age of 13 when a school friend showed him a card trick that sparked his curiosity.

After years of practising, Micky decided to delve into the entertainment industry and has now been working as a magician for more than a decade.

“It started off as a hobby and naturally it grew into a passion and it got to a point when I would do a magic trick at a professional level and see the faces and reactions of audiences which pushed me to go further and learn more,” he said

“It’s very different from a 9 to 5 job because although all of us have to work to pay our bills the best thing about this is getting paid to do something I love and am passionate about.”

The multi-talented magician has performed across the state and said his weekends were often busy but packed full of fun.

“Every show is like the first show I’ve ever done. You have to be perfect and give 110 per cent at every single show.”

Micky said he loves working with children and watching their faces light up each time he performs a new magic trick.

“Entertaining adults has been great and I’ve loved it, but entertaining a child, I don’t think there is anything more rewarding than seeing their faces,” Micky said.

“Magic to a degree is real to them so what they experience compared to an adult is much more exciting.

“In their eyes you’re a superhero and that’s a phenomenal feeling.”
