POLICE are asking for witnesses to a collision in Deer Park last week to come forward.
Police believe an 18-year-old man was driving a maroon Falcon travelling east on Ballarat Rd with a red Holden Commodore following behind at around 11.30pm on Tuesday 4 October.
Police were told both cars were changing lanes when the red Commodore lost control, veered off the road and struck a tree.
The driver of the red Commodore, a Caroline Springs resident, received minor injuries and was taken to the Royal Melbourne hospital.
His front passenger, a 17-year-old Derrimut man, was taken to the Western Hospital in Footscray for observation and later released.
Two rear passengers, both 15-year-old girls from Caroline Springs and West Sunshine, were not injured. The 18-year-old driver of the Falcon from Hillside and his 18-year-old male passenger were not injured in the collision.
