A COMMUTER was bashed at Albion Railway Station on Sunday 10 October.
Police have appealed for information or for anyone who witnessed the attack of the 45-year-old Deer Park man to contact Crime Stoppers.
Senior Sergeant Fred Grove from Sunshine Police Station said the man was getting on a train at around 10.20pm when he saw an assault occurring in a carriage.
“He alighted from the train at Albion Station and noticed one of the female persons who had taken part in the assault was standing near the ticket machine,” said Sen Sgt Grove.
The man approached the female and asked her some questions, but a male youth then assaulted him.
Straight after that, “a further group of youths set upon him, punching him all over the body” before fleeing.
Sen Sgt Grove said the victim’s bag, containing cash and his mobile phone, was stolen during the attack.
He said the man was left with red marks and bruises after the assault, and appealed for anyone who saw the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
