Revved up ... Jodie Harding and Shane McKay teach their children, nine-year old Revved up … Jodie Harding and Shane McKay teach their children, nine-year old

THEY say boys love their toys but Jodie Harding is just as addicted.
The pink lady of the model car world, Ms Harding was roped into the hobby by fiance Shane McKay two years ago and has never looked back.
The pair are members of the Keilor Offroad RC Car Club and insist the couple that races together stays together.
Mr McKay has been racing remote cars for more than 17 years and introduced his bride-to-be to the sport with the help of an unusual present.
“He bought me a car kit with 4000 pieces and I thought how on earth am I going to put this together,” Ms Harding said.
“It took me a day and a half but I managed to do it and now the car is my pride and joy.”
Painted shocking pink, Ms Harding’s car is a clear stand-out during race meets.
But the little buggy won’t be needing a new paint job anytime soon.
“I’m very particular about that pink car,” Ms Harding said.
“I don’t race it with anyone else because I’m too scared of crashing it.”
Mr McKay said the club was growing in popularity with around 45 members.
“Three years ago we were lucky to have 15 but we’ve steadily built it up and people are starting to realise what a great hobby it is.”
The club holds race days every second and fourth Sunday of the month at the Keilor Recreation Reserve.
