BRIMBANK youngsters cooked up a storm last week.
Enthusiastic adolescents from across the city have been invited to learn cooking skills for themselves, their mates and their family through a cooking program launched by Brimbank Youth Services and the YMCA.
The ‘Cooking it Up’ program was designed to provide young people with skills to be able to prepare low cost nutritious meals while also providing an understanding of how a commercial kitchen operates.
The council hopes the course will offer impetus if participants are interested to pursue a career in hospitality. Once participants have been recruited, the program will allow them to have input into the weekly sessions through support of the chef and Youth Workers.
Participants will receive a certificate of achievement upon completing the course.
