OLYMPIC gold medallist Lydia Lassila will attend free book signing sessions in Caroline Springs and Melton tomorrow.
The world champion skier, who lives in Diggers Rest, will sign copies of her book “Jump” at 10-11am at Caroline Springs Civic Centre/Library between 1pm and 2pm at Melton Library.
Lassila won gold in the women’s freestyle aerials final at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver in February.
She was recently named the 2010 Australian Institute of Sport Athlete of the Year.
At its November meeting, Melton Shire Council voted to appoint Lassila as an ambassador focusing on junior sports development, particularly through schools and sporting clubs in the shire.
Council also voted to introduce entrance signage to the municipality based on the theme “Home of Winter Olympics gold medallist Lydia Lassila”.
