A LARGE field turned out for a four-person ambrose on Saturday to celebrate Hidden Valley Golf Club’s Christmas break-up.
With the course in pristine condition, low-scoring was required to receive a prize. In fact two teams finished with the same nett score of 56 1/8.
The winning team was James McKinnon, John Villella, Rod Blyth and Stuart Law, beating Barry Lewis, Mitchell Lewis, Sam Peet and Paul Lambert-Williams on a count-back.
Last Sunday was a par event. Michael Page won A Grade on a count-back from Norm Brosnan after they finished tied on 3-up. B Grade saw some terrific scores returned with young Lucas Runciman winning his first competition with a score of 8-up.
Sue Johnson finished 7-up and can feel a little unlucky that she missed the win. Midweek winners were Callan Stone in A Grade with 36 points and Lou Cristini in B Grade with 42 points.
