Wise men make tot's Christmas

By Belinda Nolan
VOLUNTEERS from Melton’s Men’s Shed made a Christmas wish come true for a Caroline Springs toddler.
Volunteers came to the rescue after a three-year-old girl had her bike stolen.
The kind-hearted men donated the profits from the sale of food and drinks to buy a new bike for the girl, which they assembled and presented to her just in time for Christmas.
Melton mayor Justin Mammarella praised the generous action.
“In this case, the Men’s Shed volunteers have shown true community spirit by donating a bike to make a three-year-old’s Christmas brighter,” Cr Mammarella said.
He said the group was a valuable community asset, providing opportunities for men to meet to share skills and experience and help others.
The Men’s Shed is located at The Willows Historical Park, in Reserve Rd.
Programs include woodwork, cooking, gardening and other social activities.
