Police say the 21-year-old man was stabbed in the head, stomach and lower back during a frenzied attack outside a home in Moonstone Circuit on Thursday night.
He was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with life threatening injuries while police began the hunt for his attacker.
Detectives processed the crime scene and door knocked surrounding streets in their quest to catch the offender. The incident occurred at around 8.40pm on Thursday.
Meanwhile, a Braybrook man has been charged following another stabbing on the same night. The 27-year-old faced an out of sessions before appearing at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday. He has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury after stabbing a man multiple times in Flemington.
