Car wash bust

Members of the Special Operations Group were called to the 7/11 on Caroline Springs Blvd following an investigation by Embona officers.
Police will allege that the men, a 24-year-old from Delahey and a 20-year-old from St Albans, were involved in a spate of armed robberies committed within a three-day period.
The first robbery was committed at around10:45pm on Saturday 5 March at the United Service Station on Station Rd in Deer Park.
Two men armed with guns threatened the attendant and stole $500 worth of cash, along with several cartons of cigarettes.
Just three days later, police were called to another armed robbery committed at Braybrook’s Australia Post store.
At around 3pm, two robbers, one armed with a gun held up the store, threatening staff and making off with more than $2000 in cash.
After speaking to witnesses, investigators located the getaway car at the 7/11, SOG police arresting two men at the scene shortly after 7pm on Tuesday.
Police have charged the older man over both robberies, while the younger has been charged over the service station robbery.
Investigators are still hunting for a third man believed to be involved in the Australia Post robbery.
Following the arrests, police executed search warrants on several homes, seizing cash, cigarettes and other proceeds of crime.
The men were charged with armed robbery and weapons offences and were remanded in custody to reappear at a later date.
