The Open Book Project campaign offers members of the community over 18 years of age the chance to upload their teenage diary in an effort to show today’s youth that every one goes through the same issues – even celebrities.
Caroline Springs resident Ash Nicholson is a crew member of Reach and said the campaign proved that all teenagers went through similar experiences.
“Teens can get an insight into celebrities’ lives. They can see that celebrities went through what they are going through,” the Caroline Springs College student said.
The website showcases pages from the diaries of Hamish Blake, Andy Lee, and even Victorian Premier Ted Baillieu. Ash, 16, has been involved in the Reach program for two years and said it has made a huge difference in her life.
The program, which was co-founded by football legend Jim Stynes, works with young people to increase their self-belief and help them discover who they are.
