DEBORAH Watson understands the importance of being a mother.
The president of the Mother’s Network of Caroline Springs and Burnside celebrated Mother’s Day with her beloved children and husband and wouldn’t have it any other way.
Mrs Watson and her two tiny tots Marcus, 5, and Katie, 3, spent the morning unravelling special presents they had made at kindergarten and school.
“It’s really nice to spend the morning with the kids and get their special presents,” the proud mum said.
“It’s a busy day but I try to get a sleep in to about nine at least.”
And for Mrs Watson it’s all about the look on her children’s faces when she opens up their gifts.
“They are so happy and proud.”
Mrs Watson knows the role of a mother can never be underestimated and that’s why she spends tireless hours devoted to the mother’s network, where local mums gather to chat and share their experiences and know they’re not alone.
“It’s important to acknowledge what mums do and it’s usually taken for granted.”
She also juggles part-time work.
“Sometimes it’s easier to be at work. You get to knock off at five, but when you’re at home the work continues all day long.”
