A GROUP of Sunshine residents were happy to finally fly the flag last week. After receiving a call from St Bernadette’s Aged Care Facility asking for a flag, Western Metropolitan Region MP Bernie Finn took the matter into his own hands and donated an Australian flag to the group of elderly residents. “I wish everybody would fly the flag,” Mr Finn said. “We should show pride in what we have. “The flag represents our heritage, our present, our future.” Resident Dawn Higgins was proud to finally see the Aussie flag flying high and the facility held a special event commemorating the occasion. 69115 Picture: JOE MASTROIANNI
