A STUDY will take place this month to investigate creating more road links to Melbourne Airport in Tullamarine.
The planning study will examine link options via the Tullamarine Freeway with the future Outer Metropolitan Ring Rd and will also consider the viability of bypassing the township of Bulla to address current and projected traffic congestion.
Public Transport and Roads Minister Terry Mulder said the study would look into providing an alternative route linking Melbourne Airport to Melbourne’s new northern industrial areas and the western suburbs via the planned Outer Metropolitan Ring Rd.
“A crucial outcome of this study will be identifying where land should be reserved for future transport needs while ensuring minimal impact upon the local community and environment,” Mr Mulder said.
Preliminary planning has commenced and the Government has confirmed there will be full public consultation later in the year.
