A WOMAN was bitten on the ear during a brutal attack at a St Albans home on 13 November.
Police said a male intruder forced his way into the Topaz Place home, after verbally abusing the occupants, during the early hours of the Sunday morning.
Once inside the hallway, he then allegedly grabbed a 28-year-old female by her hair and forced her to the ground, punching her in the head.
The offender then allegedly bit the woman’s left ear as she tried to struggle free.
Police said when the attack was over, the woman talked to the offender and he left the address shortly after.
Police said both parties involved in the assault were known to each other, but police were called over the incident.
Two children, aged seven and eight years old, were inside the house at the time of the violent attack.
The victim also suffered a bite to her thumb during the confrontation, and was left with injuries to her face. She was treated by an ambulance crew at the scene of the crime.
