THE Burnside Heights Football Club may be in the early stages of its history but one thing is for sure, its inaugural group of talented juniors are playing for the jumper.
After months of planning, the Bears are all but ready for their round one debut and will field one under-10s and one under-12s side.
“We had our registration day a couple of weeks ago and things went very well both with the juniors and the Auskick numbers,” president Justin Peagram said.
“The kids are loving it. When they signed up to be a part of the Bears they each received a baseball cap and a training top and it’s been great to see all the kids wearing those to training. It shows that all the kids are really buying into the club.”
With junior cricket finishing in the coming weeks, Peagram said the Bears were happy to sign up as many players as possible.
“We can still take more kids.
“It’s just a matter of letting people know that there is a new football club out there which is another avenue for kids who have been sitting on the bench and not getting game time.
“Because we are a junior club we don’t have the issue of parents saying what am I paying for because they can see it in their club,” Peagram said.
Burnside has also launched its new website bhfcbears.com.au/fc/
