It’s time to party

MELTON’S youngest residents will be at the centre of festivities this week as the city celebrates Children’s Week.
Hillside preschoolers like Marcus and his sister Chelsea will be among hundreds of children taking part in celebrations across the municipality which will include storytelling, sports activities, music and dance.
The nation-wide celebration will focus on the importance of literacy and the integral role children play within families and the wider community.
The council is inviting families to take part in events being held in both Caroline Springs and Melton with chief executive Kelvin Tori saying it’s an exciting time on the city’s calendar.
“There will be a wide range of activities and events on offer with something to suit children of all ages. I encourage families to get involved in our activities to make the week a successful celebration for all,” Mr Tori said.
