A TAYLORS LAKES driver had his car impounded after speeding past an unmarked police car while racing in the CBD earlier this month.
The 21-year-old Brimbank resident and a 23-year-old man from Ascot Vale, who was on an international licence, both had their cars impounded under hoon legislation on 3 January.
It is believed the drivers were racing each other along Victoria St at around 11.45pm.
Yarra Highway patrol members intercepted the white Honda and red Honda Civic near Spencer St.
Both men are expected to be charged on summons with street racing, loss of traction, improper use of vehicle and other traffic-related offences.
