THE driver of a furniture truck was lucky to escape serious injury after the vehicle tipped over in Kealba last week.
Emergency crews were called to the scene at the roundabout near Sunshine Ave and Biggs St just after 4pm last Thursday.
The driver managed to get out of the truck and the rollover caused some of the truck’s contents to spill onto the road including boxes of wine glasses and pallets of furniture.
The truck spilled diesel fuel and brake fluid along the road causing police to close nearby roads.
An MFB spokesperson said firefighters spent more than six hours removing the cargo from the back of the truck.
Roads were reopened at 10.20pm after fire crews mopped up the spill.
