Handgun burglar search in Albion

A MAN armed with a handgun burgled a service station on Ballarat Rd in Albion last Wednesday.
Just before 1.35am, the armed offender entered the fuel store and pointed his weapon at the shop’s employee.
He then demanded cash, which the 32-year-old staff member handed over from the service station’s till.
The burglar then fled from the store and was last seen heading East on Ballarat Rd, towards Maryland St.
Police searched the area after the crime but did not find a suspect.
The offender was described as around 172cm tall, with a thin build.
He was wearing dark tracksuit pants and a brown hooded top, with a black cap over the top, at the time of the burglary.
The service station attendant was not injured during the burglary, which is being investigated by the Embona Taskforce at Keilor Downs Police Station.
