Armed man wanted over robberies

POLICE are searching for a man who they believe committed armed robberies in Albion and Taylors Lakes last month.
During the most recent crime, the male entered a service station on Ballarat Rd in Albion on 20 February at around 1.30am.

The offender walked into the store and threatened the attendant with a handgun.
The employee handed over cash before the robber left and headed down Marylands St.

Earlier in the month, a man with a knife entered a bottle shop on the Melton Highway, Taylors Lakes at 9.45pm on 8 February.

He threatened the male attendant and ordered him to open the cash register.
Another employee entered the store’s counter area causing the offender to run away.

The offender was described as Caucasian, 20 to 30 years old and around 172 to 175 centimetres tall with a thin build and short dark hair.
During the 20 February offence he was wearing a black hat, grey track top, grey pants and white shoes.
At the time of the earlier incident, he was wearing a black Everlast jumper, dark jeans, white sunglasses and white shoes.
