BRIMBANK City Council administrators John Watson, Jane Nathan and Peter Lewinsky celebrated the official opening of the Sydenham Community Hub recently.
The centre, at Watergardens Town Centre, was funded by $2.1 million from the council.
Administrators’ chairman, Mr Watson, the project has been designed to meet the needs of a growing community.
“This is a great example of council’s stated commitment to the revitalisation of town centres, and the efficiencies we are implementing for the benefit of the community,” he said.
“The Sydenham Community Hub is just that; one building, which is easy to access, that houses the library, maternal and child health services, customer service and the Sydenham Neighbourhood House.
“We have also included meeting and IT facilities, arts spaces and large multipurpose areas that we urge the community to utilise,” Mr Watson said.
“This hub is designed to be an active, thriving place where the community feels welcome and inspired.”
