THREE bandits attacked and robbed a man after he left a Sunshine library on Monday 17 June.
The 36-year-old left the library at around 11.30pm and began walking along Dickson St, before he was approached by a trio of men.
The males, perceived to be of African appearance, started to chase the victim as he ran towards a taxi rank.
However the offenders caught up with the victim, dragged him into Clarke St, assaulted him and stole his backpack.
The offenders walked away with the backpack, which contained books and cash.
The victim, a Sunshine resident, was taken to Sunshine Hospital with a suspected broken nose.
Police said they believe a number of people would have witnessed the assault and have urged them to come forward.
On 4 June, Star reported Brimbank City Council have committed to addressing traders’ concerns about drug-taking, drunkenness and “extreme anti-social behaviour” in and around Clarke St.
A report presented to the Brimbank administrators said the council would prepare a funding submission to the National Crime Prevention Fund for improved lighting and CCTV cameras along the street.
