A SHOPKEEPER attempted to fight off a balaclava-clad bandit in his Deer Park store on 12 July.
Detectives from the Brimbank Embona unit are investigating the armed robbery which occurred at a Kings Rd liquor store at 8.20pm on the Wednesday.
Police said a male entered the store, armed with a knife, and demanded money.
The victim, who had previously been targeted in another armed robbery, then “decided to fight off the offender”.
Acting Inspector Travis McCarthy said the store attendant opened the till, and while the robber was distracted, used a curtain rod or similar item to hit the offender a number of times about the head.
However, the offender managed to remove cash from the register and fled the scene on foot, heading north on Kings Road.
