POLICE uncovered a firearm and drugs after observing two carloads of people near a fast food outlet in Kings Rd, Sydenham on Monday 24 June.
Just after 2am, one of the vehicle occupants fled as police approached.
Police located the weapon and illicit substances and subsequently interviewed a number of people.
A 19-year-old Hillside man and an 18-year-old Delahey man have assisted police with their enquiries.
Two days later, officers from Keilor Downs intercepted a car in Sunshine Ave, Taylors Lakes.
After a positive breath test, a 48-year-old Glenroy man returned a blood alcohol content of 0.263.
His licence was immediately suspended and he will face court at a later date.
Leading Senior Constable Tony Darcy said he was disappointed at such a high alcohol reading and was “glad to have removed a very dangerous driver from our roads”.
