Memorial fight continues

BRIMBANK residents are being asked to have patience as the fight for HV McKay Memorial Gardens continues.
It was revealed late last year that the Regional Rail Link (RRL) would have an impact on Barclay Reserve and HV McKay Memorial Gardens in Sunshine.
The discovery came after design plans for the Anderson Rd grade separation was released in November.
However, Brimbank Council has called on residents to remain patient, and vowed to continue consultation with community groups including Friends of HV McKay Memorial Gardens, Sunshine Residents and Ratepayers Association and the Sunshine Historical Society.
Paul Younis, general manager for infrastructure and environment, said designs and works for the RRL project were only in the preliminary stages, and it was too early to discuss the exact size of the land required.
