SEVEN elderly women have been preyed upon by purse snatchers in the St Albans and Keilor Downs area across the past month.
Police said a group of offenders attempt to distract the women, then one of them steals her purse from an open bag.
The incidents have occurred mainly at different shops in and around shopping centres.
Police have released an image of a woman they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
The image shows a dark-haired woman wearing a white hat, a pale coat and grey clothing.
After Victoria Police published an image of the woman on their Facebook page, several people commented on her startling resemblance to a ‘demon’, a ‘zombie’ and a character from ‘The Exorcist’ film.
