THE Braybrook Scout Hall is undergoing a re-vamp, thanks to the many helping hands from the community.
The hall was run-down and not very attractive, according to Kim Ho who organised the renovations.
Ms Ho said she really wanted to make the hall a place where young people from the community wanted to visit.
“I called for help to refurbish and make better facilities to encourage the parents and children around here to come and be part of the Scouts, and it could also be useful for the local community,” Ms Ho said.
Ms Ho’s husband, brother and three children are all Scouts, and she said she highly recommended others to join the Scouts.
“They have a lot of fun in the Scouts, they go camping and they do all these exciting training,” she said.
She said it also taught children other important life skills and kept them out of trouble.
Renovations included a new kitchen installed by Masters Braybrook, new bathrooms by Reece Plumbing Sunshine, donation of paint from Paint Spot Sunshine and other donations and supplies coming from an array of businesses including G.L Lee Real Estate, Woolworths and National Australia Bank.
The Bunnings Warehouse Sunshine team also jumped on board and were last week busy in the garden making a gazebo and fixing the outdoor area.
“It is very important for young children to have a safe and engaging outdoor area that they can play in,” Bunnings Warehouse Sunshine Complex manager Scott Welsh said.
“We hope that by cleaning the yard and erecting a gazebo, the Scouts will be able to enjoy the outdoor space at the Scout Hall all-year round,” he said.
The help of trades people, including plumbers are still needed, so to volunteer phone Kim Ho 0459 836 281.
