Art of play in Brimbank

THE WOMAN’S Circus and Brimbank City Council have teamed up to invite residents of all ages to a play date.
Circus and physical theatre activities will take place in Brimbank parks in Sunshine, Sunshine West, Deer Park and St Albans this summer.
A circus trainer and a theatre practitioner will lead circus-inspired play workshops at Hampshire Rd, Balmoral Park, Erington Reserve, Kevin Wheelahan Reserve and Lowe Reserve.
The first event will be on Friday 18 October from 10am-1pm, outside Sunshine Market Place, next to Sunshine Library, 301 Hampshire Rd, Sunshine.
There will also be a play date as part of Council’s Kids Day Out on Sunday 27 October.
Each play date will contain undirected play led by the participants, playground-equipment based play and lateral play designed to stimulate the imagination.
The activities will cater for all abilities and aim to increase physical activity.
A key aim of the project is to encourage community ownership of these spaces and to discover the art of play through children’s eyes.
The Art of Play has been funded by a Vic Health Motion Grant with further support from Brimbank City Council.
