THE Reverence Hotel in Footscray will host a charity gig on Saturday 9 November to raise funds for the 20th Man Fund annual Kids Christmas Party.
Three bands – Armoured Earth, Slipperknot and Wolfpack – have donated their time to raise money for the Christmas party.
This year the 20th Man Fund event will bring joy to 800 disadvantaged kids at Bruce Mathieson’s Westend Market Hotel in Sunshine, during the festive season.
In the early 1980s, youth worker Les Twentyman and newspaper man Ron Coleman decided to run a fundraising event which provided a Christmas party for 10 young homeless people in Sunshine.
The 20th Man Fund was born from this venture and today helps 11,000 children attend school, plus runs other not-for-profit initiatives in the western suburbs.
Doors at The Reverence, 28 Napier St in Footscray, will open at 8.30pm with the first act appearing at 9pm. Entry to the show will cost $12.
