A HOUSE full of mature cannabis plants was discovered by police in St Albans on Thursday 7 November.
Officers from stations in Keilor Downs and Sunshine spent Friday removing the plants and dismantling the hydroponic set-up at the Yarmouth Ave premises.
Police attended the address around 10.45pm on another matter. However, after announcing their arrival, three men ran outside and were arrested in the street.
Police located four rooms of mature cannabis plants being grown hydroponically.
A 50-year-old St Albans man, a 37-year-old Sunshine North man and a Footscray man, 27, were arrested and taken to the Sunshine police station.
The men have all been charged with possessing, cultivating and trafficking a commercial quantity of cannabis.
They were released on bail to attend the Sunshine Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
Earlier in the week, police arrested and charged a man with trafficking and possessing a drug of dependence and firearm offences, at a Sunshine North house on Wednesday 6 November.
Police were called to the Warwick Rd house after receiving a call stating an assault was taking place.
At the address, police arrested a 37-year-old man in the front garden.
While searching the man, officers allegedly found a .22 calibre pen pistol, small quantities of heroin and amphetamines and two mobile phones.
The man was taken to the Keilor Downs police station where he was interviewed.
The man later took police back the home, where another search allegedly uncovered two long arm firearms, ammunition and drugs.
