POLICE have appealed for public help to solve a savage road rage incident which occurred on the Western Ring Rd in Sunshine West on 28 November last year.
It is believed the victim was cut off by a small dark grey Hyundai Excel hatchback while driving between Ballarat and Boundary roads, about 12.30pm.
The two cars stopped in the far left emergency lane and the victim was punched in the face by the driver of the Excel.
He was further attacked after falling to the ground and left unconscious on the side of the road.
Police have released an image of a man whom they believe may be able to assist them in their inquiries.
He was described as Middle Eastern in appearance, aged in his late twenties to early thirties and around 175cm to 178cm tall with short dark hair.
He was wearing a red or pink hoodie and black pants at the time of the attack.
The passenger was also described as Middle Eastern in appearance, around 183cm with a slim build and was also wearing a red or pink hoodie and black pants.
