A GROUP of four men attacked another man during a dispute about alcohol at a park on the border of Sunshine and Braybrook recently.
Detective Senior Constable Jessica Boyle, from the Brimbank CIU, said no-one has been arrested in relation to the alleged crime which occurred on Friday 31 January at approximately 8.50pm.
The assault took place at parkland located off Matthews St and Duke St.
“Basically it was a group of males drinking down by the park,” Det Sen Const Boyle said.
“There’s been a dispute over somebody going to buy alcohol next and when he refused, one of the males was assaulted by a group of four, possibly with a stick and a bottle.”
The victim, a St Albans resident aged in his mid-thirties, was taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries after the assault.
He received stitches for wounds and lacerations sustained on his head and back.
Det Sen Const Boyle said police arrived on the scene after the victim’s friend called emergency services.
She said police are looking for any witnesses or anyone who has knowledge about the crime.
The offenders were perceived as being of Burmese appearance, aged approximately between 16 to 22 years old and are believed to live around the Braybrook area.
