EMBONA Taskforce members are investigating an alleged armed robbery in Sunshine last week.
A husband and wife met up with a man and drove to the Deer Park Hotel between 4.30pm and 5pm on Tuesday 10 April.
After picking up a female passenger, the group left the hotel. While driving on Westmoreland Rd the driver stopped the car and asked the husband and wife to get out.
Police believe one of the people produced a handgun and forced the husband out of the vehicle.
It’s also alleged that the wife was forced to hand over her handbag before the driver sped away, leaving the husband on the road.
The vehicle met up with a Holden Commodore sedan, which the offenders got into. A passer-by picked the husband up and took him to Sunshine Police Station where he reported the incident.
The wife was collected by police after being called to an address in Cumberland Rd.
