BRIMBANK Embona detectives are searching for a man who wielded a Rambo knife during an attempted armed robbery in St Albans last week.
The man entered the Main Rd West shop at 12.20pm armed with a Rambo-style knife and demanded cash from the two attendants.
As the man leaned over the counter to grab cash from the till, one of the attendants grabbed hold of him and took the knife from him.
The store attendant began to chase after the offender, but was stopped by a female accomplice, who had been acting as a lookout.
The pair fled in a maroon or purple-coloured hatch with stolen registration plates UDN 596. The offender is described as aged between 20 and 30 years, Caucasian and approximately 175 centimetres tall. The woman is described as being in her 30s, Caucasian and has false teeth.
