Save Sunvale

By LAURA WAKELY
SUNVALE open space campaigners are lobbying the State Government to give the site to Brimbank Council to manage for community parkland.
The government last month transferred a site in Nunawading to the Department of Sustainability and Environment, which will allowed the City of Whitehorse to manage the land for community open space.
Sunvale is undergoing a valuation process by the Department of Education before the Planning Minister Matthew Guy will decide what to do with the two-hectare site. Education Minister Martin Dixon did not “know the details” of the Sunvale issue but said normal government procedure would be to offer the land to other departments and local government before putting it to tender.
