Foa calls it quits

BRIMBANK CEO Nick Foa has resigned after five years.
Mr Foa handed his resignation to the council last week to take up the role of General Manager Regions for Places Victoria, a government organisation that facilitates urban renewal.
Mr Foa said on Friday that he was sad to leave Brimbank but had been presented with a great opportunity.
“After a 24 year stint in Local Government I have decided it is time for me to take a different direction in my career,” Mr Foa said.
“The opportunity at Places Victoria is a new role focused on delivering place making, renewal and development opportunities in regional cities throughout Victoria. This role sits perfectly with my passion for building communities.”
“I genuinely believe in local government’s capacity to effect real and positive change in the lives of those people it serves. We at Brimbank have been delivering on the promise that local government represents.
“I have learnt so much from the communities we serve. I am now looking forward to learning about other communities in a new environment.”
Chair of Administrators Peter Lewinsky said he had “tremendous respect” for the way Mr Foa had managed the council through several transitions.
“I know I speak on behalf of Meredith, Jo and all staff when I say that Nick’s passion, enthusiasm and vision will be missed, and in particular the way he has worked with administrators in the last two and a half years,” he said.
“Brimbank has a very exciting future and we will be undertaking a formal executive search process to identify the best possible candidate for the role.”
