The robberies took place in the early hours of the morning in Hoppers Crossing, Seabrook and Williamstown.
The first robbery occurred on 25 November at 2.40am at a convenience store in Ferguson St, Williams-town, when two men armed with a wooden picket escaped with cash and cigarettes.
On 26 November, at 4.18am, two bandits escaped with cash and cigarettes from a convenience store in Point Cook Road, Seabrook. One of the bandits was armed with a metal pole.
At 5.28am, two men, one armed with a pole, held up the APCO service station in Morris Road, Hoppers Crossing.
The men fled empty-handed when the attendant grabbed a cricket bat and chased them from the service station.
On 27 November two bandits went to the same APCO service station, at 2.28am, armed with a steel pole and escaped with cash.
At 3.45am two bandits went to the same convenience store in Ferguson Street, Williamstown, that was robbed on the 25th and held it up again.
The bandits were also armed with a metal pole and escaped with cash.
A short time after the robbery police intercepted a vehicle nearby and arrested the four males and one female aged between 15 and 18.
Detectives are now questioning the five over the series of robberies.
