Cancer answer

Relay for Life runners probably won’t be wearing these kind of heels while they undergo their arduous run, but Brimbank businesswomen Bri Cartlidge and Bri Walker are more than happy to slip into them – all in the name of a good cause of course. 86108 Picture: KRISTIAN SCOTTRelay for Life runners probably won’t be wearing these kind of heels while they undergo their arduous run, but Brimbank businesswomen Bri Cartlidge and Bri Walker are more than happy to slip into them – all in the name of a good cause of course. 86108 Picture: KRISTIAN SCOTT

A KEILOR Downs business is not only raising eyebrows with its unique clothing and footwear, but also raising funds for a good cause.
The team from Sesky Shoes, Sesky Fashion and Vintage Doll Clothing have banded together to raise money for Relay for Life.
Relay for Life is run across Australia each year and raises over $14 million in the fight against cancer.
Bri Cartlidge from Vintage Doll Clothing said the group decided they wanted to give something back to the community and thought what better way than raising vital funds for cancer – something that has gripped many families across Brimbank.
“We all have loved ones who have lost their battle with cancer as so many of us do. A very good friend of ours, Lia Costanzo, we learned, is taking part in Relay for Life, so we decided to raise money to support her team The Incredibles,” Ms Cartlidge said.
The business is hosting a VIP charity event tomorrow night and asking for gold coin donations.
Ms Cartlidge said contributions from local businesses had been pouring in so there would be a number of raffle prizes to be won.
The Bacchus Marsh resident said Seksy would match all donations received up to $1000. Even better, store owner Ferhat Altinay will don a pair of the store’s highest heels and walk down Burke Street Mall if the store meets its target.
The event is taking place tomorrow night at Sesky, Centro Keilor, 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
