HOBSONS Bay City Council has gone to its lawyers to decide the fate of two rogue bull terriers that are on remand over the vicious killing of a neighbouring pooch six weeks ago.
The victim was savagely mauled and was eventually put down after the pair bashed their way through a new steel fence on 14 August.
The offending dogs were immediately seized and have been held at an RSPCA lock-up in East Burwood.
The council has submitted a brief of evidence to its lawyers ahead of court proceedings against the unregistered bull terriers’ owner. The incident has forced council to step up measures to ensure all dogs in the municipality are registered.
