The 35-year-old’s surrealist work is part of a Photography Studies College Art Major Graduate Exhibition, called Lucid Dreaming.
Lucid Dreaming will be on display at the Newport Substation from 1-22 December.
Ms Blazevski’s constructed landscapes focus on consumption of the environment, and use organic materials like paper, leaves, sticks and shells, which are then photographed.
Inspired by her surroundings, her focus is on environmental issues, including waste through consumption.
“Utilising diverse media for the environmental compositions that explore textures and form, I would like to highlight the direct contact between humans and nature and the effect we are having on our environment.”
In doing this, she uses objects she finds to create a different sense of time and place.
“My work is mostly based on images from my dreams, likes and dislikes as well as my fears for our futures,” she said.
“I enjoy using unusual perspectives that appear realistic but logically impossible contents, as in dreams, to express the illogical.”
Ms Blazevski was shortlisted in various award categories at the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers in October.
Lucid Dreaming’s opening night is Friday, 1 December, from 6pm to 9pm. Inquiries: 9682 3191
