POLICE and Emergency Services Minister Bob Cameron has announced an extra 21 speed and red light cameras would be switched on around Melbourne in the coming month.
Mr Cameron said new digital cameras would be rolled out at 78 of the most dangerous intersections in the state.
The announcement follows the installation of new fixed speed cameras at various locations along the Western Ring Road earlier this month.
Mr Cameron said the new cameras were installed in time for the Christmas holiday period, a time when more road accidents usually occurred.
