THE Western Region Concert Band will present its seventh annual Last Night of the Proms on 11 August at the Williamstown Town Hall at 7.30pm.
Modelled on the famous concerts held each year at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Proms at Williamstown attracts about 1000 music lovers from across the West.
Music director and organiser Andrew Houston said audience members had dressed up in English costumes, including outfits such as those of London bobbies, at previous concerts.
The event will be a varied program from the band, the Altona Community Choir, and soloist tenor, Lawrence Allen.
It will include Proms favourites such as Rule Britannia; Pomp and Circumstance March (Land of Hope and Glory); Fantasy on British Sea Songs; and Jerusalem.
The choir will sing the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah.
Tickets can be purchased from ticket secretary, Robert, on 9379 8343.
Stall seats are $10, balcony seats, $15.
